Advantages of Reading!! :)

Hello Everyone!! 🙂

Today I would like to share with you the benefits of reading. Whether this is a novel, a magazine or the newspaper, it is reading and it’s great!!

Improving your vocabulary

You have probably all head of this reading benefit before. Hehe!! I know you probably don’t think its true or feel like it is a false advantage, but it happens without you noticing it. The way we imagine the events in a story, all depend on the words written in the text. When we are asked to give a definition for some words, sometimes its hard to explain but you can visualise it. I think that is what it means by improving you vocabulary.

Escape into another world

The benefit of reading is that you can escape into another world where all of the problems in you life disapear. A place where you can see other people’s lives, thoughts, ideas and escape the reality for a while. Sometimes forgetting about your life and everything you have got to do, or the upcoming stresses is very beneficial for us and can help us relax before going to bed.

Makes you think

Reading actually makes you think. It makes you have to create an image of the events and characters inside your head. I can guarantee you that everyone who reds a story imagines it very different. that is why we all say that the movie ruins your imagination of the novel. It’s nice to do something that challenges you mind and makes you think.

Improves writing skills

Have yo every read an essay, persuasive text or a novel before going off and writing something of similar character? if you have, did you feel like the words seemed to flow off your tongue a lot better. I have experienced this a couple of times. It is so good when you read a novel and then start writing a short story which turns out really well because your mind is still in the literature mode. I have actually experience this one occur, so I definitely agree that it is a benefit

Exposes you to different writing styles

Everyone has a different writing style and reading can introduce many different types to you. I know that some high-end, famous novels that I have read have had some strange writing styles. In some cases I wondered if they were even grammatically correct. Though, it is good to read different types of texts in order to discover your favourite authors and the type of writing you like. Therefore, you can broaden your knowledge about literature.

Thankyou for reading this blog post and I hope that I have encouraged you to go and pick up a magazine, novel or the newspaper.

After all, Matilda read continuously and she is a very very smart little girl!! Hehe!!

Keep Smiling!! xx 🙂 ❤

Book Review: Hollow City By Ransom Riggs

Hello Everyone 🙂

Today I have written a book review for Hollow City by Ransom Riggs. This is the sequel of Miss Peregrine’s Home For Peculiar Children. If you would like to see that review, click here. Please keep reading to find out about my opinion of Hollow City

Hollow City is an interesting read, thought I believe that the first novel was better (Miss Peregrine’s Home For Peculiar Children). The story leads on from the ending of the first novel. Hollow City is an interesting novel which opens your mind to the world of peculiars more than the first book, but, in my opinion, it isn’t as exciting.

Now that I think back, I don’t think that there was a climax of the story. I still enjoyed the images throughout the novel because it really painted a picture in my head.

I plan on reading the next novel which is Library of Souls. I would tell you more about Hollow City but I don’t want to accidentally spoil anything for you.

I do recommend this novel if you have read the first because it is needed to understand the next novel.

Thank you for reading my opinion 🙂

Keep Smiling 😀
